The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 84

Chapter 84:

“What, no… I’m not going.” At the thought of getting into a boat, Hayden had a hint of resistance in his eyes. He hastily waved his hands, “I can’t go.”

As soon as he finished his words, he felt his sleeve being squeezed. Looking down, she saw Noah holding her sleeve pitifully and looking up at her expectantly. He was holding a sticky note, on which was a line, “[I want you to come with me].”

Hayden was stunned for a moment. Patting Noah’s head, he suddenly softened to him. “It’s okay. I have to change clothes if I go with you.”

Noah had no mother and Joseph was truly a neglectful father. When they stayed at the hotel yesterday, he could get Noah sunburned. Hayden couldn’t imagine what would happen when they went sailing. Besides, Joseph also mentioned that Noah couldn’t swim.

“Okay.” Joseph looked expressionless, but he felt inexplicably delighted.

Early in the morning, he had seen her drinking coffee outside the cafeteria. After inquiring with the television program staff, he learned that Freddie had taken the girl sailing.

This news made Joseph very happy all morning.

They took a speedboat to the island. From the moment she put on her life jacket, Hayden began to feel seasick. After getting everything settled and boarding the speedboat, he shrank back in his seat and avoided looking at the water.

“Excuse me, sir. Please slow down.” He said to the boatman. His voice sounded frightening, and even Joseph sensed something was wrong.

“Are you all right?”

“I’m fine.” She smiled as if nothing was serious, hiding her reluctance, “Please fasten Noah’s cap. If the wind is strong, it will blow off.”

Joseph nodded and adjusted Noah’s cap. When he turned around, he discovered that Hayden hadn’t fastened his own cap with his shaking hands.

“Are you really okay?” Joseph frowned, “If you’re not feeling well, we’ll cancel the trip.”

“It’s okay, I’m fine, it’s just that the boat was rocking a little. I can’t fasten it.”

Joseph hesitated for a moment. Then he reached down and grabbed Hayden’s hands. “Let me help you.”noveldrama

The back of her hand was suddenly enveloped in his warm hand. Hayden was stunned for a moment, as if she had forgotten the dizzy feeling at that moment.

She watched dazedly as Joseph helped her fasten her cap. Shivers erupted from her chin under his involuntary caresses, which almost made it difficult for her to breathe for a while.

“Ready.”

His deep voice rang in her ear. Only then did she come to her senses. She immediately looked away and answered him, “Oh. Thank you, thank you so much.”

“You’re welcome.” Joseph looked at her, “Are you hot?”

“Well, not really.”

“Why are you blushing?”

“Am I?”

Hayden suddenly covered her cheeks and stammered, “No, not at all. Maybe, maybe the sunlight is too strong.” As he spoke, he pointed to the sky said, “It’s sunlight, so hurry up and button Noah’s shirt.”

Joseph squinted slightly and his lips formed a meaningful smile. He seemed unconvinced by her explanation.

Noah seemed curious about everything. He would point here and there, never ceasing to ask questions.

Hayden explained very patiently, but she didn’t understand some things, especially when Noah asked her about the ship’s mechanical equipment. She knew almost nothing about it, from there it was Joseph who was in charge of explaining to her how the boat worked.

“Mr. Beckham, has anyone ever told you before that you are quite professional when you explain things about the boat?”.

At first, Joseph thought he was paying him a compliment. However, he heard the next sentence from her. “People who don’t know you might think you’re a dock worker.”

At that moment, he put on a serious expression.

Usually, Joseph could win arguments against others. However, for some reason, he didn’t have the ability to talk back to her at all. Noticing that, Hayden felt quite cheerful, and seemed to suffer less from motion sickness.

So he suddenly asked her, “By the way, why did you suddenly bring Noah to the Maldives? He hadn’t told me about it before, if I had known, we could have come together.”

Joseph replied blankly, “Noah wanted to come here.”

Noah glared at him. Then he wrote on the board and showed it to Hayden, “[Dad wanted to surprise you].”

Hayden read the writing and felt his heart pounding. Unconsciously, she looked at Joseph, only to find that he was looking at her, too. When their gazes met, the air around them seemed to stagnate.

Hayden always thought Joseph was looking out for her because he got along so well with Noah. If it wasn’t for the ‘accident’ that night, where she was knocked unconscious after getting drunk and tried her best to forget, she had never considered the possibility between him and her.

Even if she imagined it, it was only a flame that was immediately extinguished. Joseph was getting married-how could they be together?

Thinking about it, she hurried to avoid Joseph’s gaze and smiled deliberately to get rid of the embarrassment. “Noah, you’re very young, but you know what to say to please a lady.”

Noah looked at Joseph, hoping his father might say something. However, Joseph ignored him completely, as if he didn’t understand what his son meant. He even turned to look at an island in the distance.

Noah was very anxious. He put his head down and quickly wrote on the drawing board, “[You said I pleased you. Does that mean the surprise my dad gave you made you happy?”].

Hayden’s smile hardened as he read those words. She couldn’t believe this little guy’s question had caught her.

She had to admit that she was really delighted to see Joseph and Noah show up here. When she had seen their figure from the balcony yesterday, she thought she had been mistaken, but she was also very glad.

Joseph noticed that she was self-absorbed. As he was about to ask her something, the boat shook violently.

Hayden screamed and jerked away. Joseph acted quickly to grab her arm. Before they could keep their balance, the boat shook again.

With a solemn face, Joseph tightened his grip and pulled her into his arms. Then he asked the boatman, “What’s going on?”

Hayden’s cheek hit Joseph’s life jacket. She felt a little sore from the rubbing. Before she could react, she felt dizzy and the landscape in front of her immediately began to move at an unacceptable speed, then became a blur. Instantly she felt her stomach turn.

The boatman at the front of the boat hurriedly replied, “I’m sorry, sir. It looks like rain, it’s high tide, I’m afraid we can’t go any further. Shall we continue on to the island or turn back?”

Looking at Hayden, who had already collapsed in his arms, Joseph looked a little solemn.

This woman was obviously dizzy. He sensed something was wrong with her as soon as they got on the boat, but she pretended to be fine. Now some waves came and she fainted. How were they going to continue on to the island?

“Go straight back.” He replied neatly to the boatman.

Joseph glanced at Noah and asked, “Noah, can you stay still on your own?”

Noah nodded with a solemn face. With one Joseph grabbed Noah and held Hayden’s shoulder with the other, wrapping his arms around her.

The weather changed very quickly, with large raindrops falling on the boat. Without any hindrance, everyone on the boat was instantly drenched by the rain.

Joseph wrinkled his eyebrows. Suddenly, he heard a groan from between his arms.

“Grandpa, please don’t go. Please don’t .”
