Unforgettable love

Chapter 5

Chapter 5:.

Dolores seemed to understand what Coral was thinking. She didn’t explain anything and just smiled at him. The agreement was between her and Matthew, she had no right to ask about his private life or ask him to stay home with her. She even felt more comfortable in his absence.

Dolores entered the room and stared at the bedroom furniture. The style was unique, with a black and white color scheme. The monochromatic room was simple, neat and luxurious with a touch of elegance.

“This is Mr. Nelson’s room.” Coral smiled.

Since they were technically married, Dolores knew they should stay together. Dolores opened her mouth and realized she couldn’t say a word about the arrangement. So, instead, she nodded in response.

Dolores found it hard to fall asleep on her first night in her temporary home. She propped herself up on her pillow and browsed job websites from her phone, ready to find a job. She could only lead a stable life, take good care of her mother and provide a future for the child she was expecting if she had a job.

She was surprised to see that someone was hiring translators. Being a translator was a fairly common job, but the surprising thing was that the employer was looking for someone who knew the language of Country A. Country A was where Randolph had sent Dolores and her family. It was an undeveloped tropical country and there were not many people who knew the language of the natives. After all, the most widely used language in the world was that of the more developed and capable countries.

The salary and benefits were good. She filled out the application, attached her resume, then hung up the phone before lying down and falling asleep.

The moonlight shone through the window like silk in the silent night. Dolores had fallen asleep after tossing and turning in bed for a while and didn’t notice the flash of white light that shot out into the yard as a Maybach pulled into the garage. The car door opened and an imposing figure stepped out. He entered the house and almost seemed to dance across the floor as if he were walking on clouds.

He untied his tie and realized that his mouth was dry. Not wanting to disturb his servants, Matthew went to his room and grabbed a glass of water from the bathroom. His Adam’s apple slid up and down his throat as he gulped the water. The water dripped down his chin, but he didn’t care, as he continued to think about his night through a wine-induced stupor.

After finishing the water, he finally relieved most of the burning sensation in his throat. He had drunk quite a bit of white wine at dinner and a few glasses of red wine when separately celebrating with Helen on her birthday. It turned out that he, who was a good drinker, had gotten slightly drunk.

He took off his jacket and threw it over a chair on his way out of the bathroom. He had left the lights in his room off as he was familiar with the layout of the furniture and didn’t need to see to undress. Knowing exactly where his bed was, he climbed into it and fell asleep instantly.

Dolores felt movement in her sleep, but quickly settled back and drifted back into a deep sleep as she hugged the blankets around her.

Dawn came faster than either of us wanted it to. The first light, resembling glowing threads, soon shone in and filled the room with light. Matthew and Dolores were sleeping soundly, like a newlywed couple.

Matthew’s eyelids twitched and his eyes fluttered open. Due to the hangover, his head felt fuzzy and he wanted to take a shower to wake up. He tried to lift his arm to get up and realized that his arm was trapped by something. He rolled over and realized that there was a woman lying in his arms.

The woman’s long black hair cascaded over his arm. Her face was pale and her eyelashes curled like the wings of a butterfly. Her rosy lips were slightly parted and her breathing was soft and regular. Her eyes moved slowly down his face and rested on his fine neck and delicate collarbone. Her breathing increased slightly and he found her really attractive. He couldn’t help but swallow saliva. He hadn’t had that urge even when he was with Helen. He narrowed his eyebrows and seemed unhappy with his involuntary reaction, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away.

Meanwhile, Dolores was dreaming that she was in the middle of the African grasslands. A ferocious lion was staring at her as if it wanted to devour her. She awoke from the dream with a start. However, the moment she opened her eyes she was met with a pair of deep-set eyes that pretended to be calm. Her mind instantly went blank. He immediately opened his eyes and covered his chest as he staggered.

“Why are you here?”

Matthew looked away calmly and slowly lifted the blanket. “This is my house.”

Dolores wanted to answer, but realizing where she was, she swallowed her words. “Weren’t you celebrating your girlfriend’s birthday? Why are you back?” she asked as she climbed out of bed and stood to the side in front of Matthew.noveldrama

Coral said Matthew wouldn’t be back, so Dolores had let her guard down and slept soundly all night. So it was no wonder she hadn’t noticed that he had entered the room. She had slept in the same room with a man. She realized she had slept in his arms and both her neck and cheeks burned as she looked away from him.

Matthew began to unbutton his shirt. He hadn’t taken it off to sleep and it still smelled of alcohol. The crumpled material clinging to his body was unpleasant and he just wanted to take a shower. He looked over at Dolores who was clearly startled at the side of the bed and Matthew’s mouth formed a playful smile.

“Could my girlfriend’s birthday be more important than my wedding night?”

Dolores was speechless. They were only legally married and only for a month. There really wasn’t a wedding night, was there? Matthew took off his shirt and Dolores pulled away. She hid her disgust at Matthew by undressing in front of her. Ever since she sold out, men disgusted her, especially being in close contact with them.

She panicked. “I’ll leave now.” Dolores ran out of the room without turning for a second.

Matthew paid her no attention. He unbuckled his belt and went into the bathroom. He needed to take a shower.

After showering, Matthew’s short black hair was wet and tousled. His white bathrobe covered his lean body and his tanned chest peeked out showing off his toned muscles.

He walked over to the closet and went to grab some clothes, but stopped when he discovered a strange bag with a sunflower in it. He froze. The bag was Dolores’? It even had a flower in it. Why was she so childish, and she dared to put her things in his closet? He frowned and pulled out his clothes. After getting dressed, she put the hanger back in place and accidentally knocked her bag over.

The bag opened and all her things fell inside. There were some plain clothes and toiletries. As she bent down to pick them up, she noticed the ultrasound with Dolores’ name on it that said she was six weeks pregnant. Dolores was pregnant?
