The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 29

Chapter 29:.

Hayden didn’t notice anything wrong with her words. So he merely nodded and brightened up a bit. “Looks like Miss Kidman still remembers me.”

But Violet replied irrelevantly, “What’s your daughter’s name?”

Her gaze fell on Stella. After seeing her cute little face, her eyelids inexplicably twitched. How come she felt this little girl looked a little like Joseph? Impossible. A voice in his mind reminded him.

“My name is Stella Downey. You can call me by my last name, Downey.” Stella suddenly interrupted and looked at Violet, appraising her.

“Stella Downey?” At the sound of this name, Violet clenched her hands. She remembered the list of medical records she had seen in Joseph’s office that day. She was becoming increasingly suspicious, so she asked directly.

“How is it that your last name is the same as your mother’s?” Stella didn’t know what he meant and just turned her head to look at her mom.

It was normal for Hayden not to understand what Violet wanted to know, but now, Violet had asked a question that concerned personal privacy. She was stupid if she still didn’t understand.

She immediately pulled Stella back into her body and spoke in a low tone. “Stella grew up in the U.S. and we moved back not too long ago. So she doesn’t quite understand what Ms. Kidman’s question means. Besides, we’re in the 21st century now, it’s not strange to follow one’s mother’s surname.”

Violet was slightly taken aback. When she saw that Noah was intimately hiding behind Hayden, she became even more upset and her tone became harsher.

“It doesn’t really matter what last name he has. I’m just a little curious how a girl from a normal family could get into a school like the Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten. Miss Downey is just a trainee manager at ST Group. If she doesn’t have an outstanding husband, I don’t see how she is so capable of sending her daughter here.”

Hayden looked embarrassed. She was sure she hadn’t offended Violet before, but Violet was so aggressive that her one sentence might have hit the nail on the head. In fact, on her own, she wasn’t so capable of sending Stella here. So she was speechless at that moment, not knowing how to respond.

“This is a private matter of hers.”

Joseph suddenly interrupted, this hid Hayden’s nervousness. Then he shot Violet a look of displeasure, “Does she have to inform you how she enrolls her daughter in this school? You’re sticking your nose into too many things lately.”

Hearing this, Violet’s face paled. Joseph surprisingly helped this woman and even embarrassed her openly.

“Joseph, I’m doing this for Noah’s sake.” He spoke quickly, “I’m afraid there’s a mix of the good and bad people in this school, so it’s best to ask properly.”

“No need.” Joseph was no longer looking at her and had a cool demeanor, “Go back to the car, I’ll get Noah.”

Since the student’s father had said this, the janitor would naturally not let Violet in. This was the rule of the Castillo Azul Bilingual Kindergarten.

“Joseph.”noveldrama

Violet stomped angrily outside the door. She could only watch the figures of Joseph and Hayden walking in. The two didn’t even turn their heads back, so their faces contorted in rage and fury.

Stella and Noah walked in front of the two adults. When Stella turned her head and saw Violet’s angry stomping behavior, she shrugged and whispered.

“Noah, do you really like this lady? I think she’s a little scary.”

Ever since he’d heard Harrison say that Joseph was going to marry Violet, he’d searched the Internet for information about her. The pictures on the Internet were all embellished, making her look like a goddess from heaven. But when Stella saw the real person, she was skeptical.

She was just fashionably dressed. Her face and the way she spoke were totally inferior to my mother. That gentleman had bad taste.

Suddenly, Noah became a little agitated and repeatedly shook his head.

“You don’t like it?” Stella was taken aback, “Then why do you still want me to be your stepmother?”

Noah shook his head even more vigorously.

“You mean, you don’t want me to be your stepmom?” Stella’s eyes suddenly lit up.

Noah nodded.

“Then…” Stella’s eyes widened, “What do you think of my mommy? Do you think it’s better to let my mommy be your stepmom? The food my mommy and I make is so delicious.”

Noah nodded his head very emphatically.

Seeing this, Stella was so jubilant that she almost jumped. As if she had found hope again, she suddenly took Noah’s hand solemnly, blinked her big eyes and spoke.

“Then you’re my big brother from now on. Don’t worry, if I have a piece of meat, I won’t let you have just soup, okay?”.

Noah nodded, but suddenly shook his head again. He put his head down to write something on the board and showed it to her.

Stella didn’t understand most of the words. She frowned, “Noah, what did you write?”.

Seeing this, Noah turned and ran back. He handed the board to Joseph and pointed to the board, followed by Stella, which meant to let him read the words.

Seeing this, Joseph looked at him quizzically. He saw that Noah was clutching the corner of his clothes and this looked to him like he was very anxious. So he could only frown and read it hesitantly.

“My family is very rich, can we eat meat together without having to drink soup…? Noah, why are you writing this?”.

Noah looked coldly at Joseph, picked up the drawing board and no longer addressed him. He walked to Stella’s side and winked at her.

Stella smiled brightly and nodded happily at Noah.

“Yeah, yeah, hahaha.”

Joseph didn’t understand the strange behavior of the two children. However, in his opinion, being unable to understand the children’s behavior was nothing worthy of him thinking about it anymore. So he didn’t think much about it.

Along the way, Hayden was depressed and looked worried. She regained her presence of mind only after the two children distracted her. After hesitating for a while, she said, “Mr. Beckham, thank you for helping Stella enroll in this school.”

Joseph looked straight ahead with no expression on his face. He spoke nonchalantly. “Don’t think too much. It’s only because Noah gets along so well with Stella, she’s considered Noah’s first friend. So, being her father, I rather hope that she can accompany Noah.”

Hearing these words, Hayden was speechless. The reason he spent so much money for Stella to study at this school was that he wanted Stella to accompany Noah. It was true that rich people could do whatever they wanted.

If it weren’t for Dr. Wilson being here, she certainly wouldn’t bow down to a superior to get the meager pay. But now he could only bow, and he had to bow hard.

Hayden followed him. He clenched his fists so tightly that a few cracking sounds could be heard as he boiled with rage.

“What sound is that?” Joseph turned and looked at her suddenly.

His hands relaxed and his face filled with smiles. “Is there a sound, how come I can’t hear it?”.

Joseph’s eyes narrowed and he spoke faintly. “Is there? Maybe I heard it wrong.”

The enrollment process was now settled. The two children were led directly to their assigned classes by the assistant administrator.

The reason Hayden came to the school this time was to get a glimpse of the school environment. Joseph had the same purpose as she did, the only difference was that Hayden had to be back at work before nine o’clock. Therefore, he walked quickly.

When he reached the courtyard, he took a look around and prepared to leave. But suddenly she heard a questioning voice behind her. She stopped moving.

“There are no safety measures for the swings here.” Joseph looked at the assistant administrator following behind him. His tone was somewhat sullen, “Are you sure they’re safe?”
