Chapter 2
Chapter 2:.
“Nora. Smith.”
Cherry, who initially had her head down as she fiddled with her cell phone, pointed to the sign in Anthony’s hand and read the name written on it in her tender young voice. Then, she excitedly asked, “Did I read it right?”.
Cherry had grown up overseas all this time and was currently in the literacy stage.
Nora rubbed her head and said in a cool, melodious voice, “Yes, you did.”noveldrama
Anthony was dazzled by the carefree smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
When had such a beauty ever come to California-she was even more beautiful than those B-list celebrities!
Nora was indifferent to the smoldering fervor in his eyes. Cherry, for her part, blinked and asked innocently, “Sir, have you come to pick up…?”.
Before she could say “…pick us up?”, Anthony hurriedly threw the placard behind him and interrupted her. “Of course not, little girl. I have nothing to do with that fat fuck.”
A hint of disdain flashed in Cherry’s big eyes. “Lord, it’s too bad to be blind at such a young age.”
What part of her mother was fat!
Her words stunned Anthony for a moment. Seizing the opportunity, Nora stepped forward and coolly left the area.
Anthony wanted to go after her, but his assistant stopped him. “Mr. Gray, don’t forget the old man’s instructions.”
Anthony looked at Nora from behind and made a disparaging remark. “How wonderful it would be if that ugly spawn were even half as beautiful as those sisters? I would have put up with her antics back then and decided not to call off the engagement!”

At the Finest Hotel, a hotel under the Hunt Corporation.
In the presidential suite, Nora looked at her cell phone after Cherry went to bed and fell asleep. There were already seven or eight missed calls from the Smiths.
When she returned the calls, she heard her father’s curses. “Nora, what are you doing, why aren’t you answering, weren’t you making a big fuss about breaking off the engagement? Get your ass back here right away, and stop wasting your little sister and Anthony’s time when they have something good to do!”
It was impossible for Nora’s father to let go of the Grays after he had moved up the social ladder and established a connection with such a prestigious family. That was also why he had insisted on not breaking off the engagement.
Now, the Grays had finally relented and agreed to allow her half-sister to marry into the family. Nora’s father lost nothing by this. It was then that the two families finally came to an agreement.
Nora said lightly, “I’ll be right back.”
She entrusted Cherry to Mrs. Lewis, the nanny who had returned to the United States with her, and went out.
As she was waiting for the elevator, she suddenly heard soft footsteps. She turned to see a little girl dressed in gray silk pajamas, her short hair disheveled, standing in the elevator lobby with sleepy eyes.
Her daughter had short hair and her exquisite, lovely facial features made it difficult to distinguish whether she was a boy or a girl.
When they lived abroad, Cherry hugged Nora every time she went out.
Therefore, she didn’t give it much thought. She usually squatted down and hugged and kissed the little girl on the forehead. Although his voice was low, it was soft.
“I’ll bring you some mousse cake tonight, honey. Go back to your room now.”
Her daughter’s normally quick eyes were dazed for a moment; she was probably so sleepy she’d gone silly. Then, under his gaze, she nodded, turned and went back.
This floor was the superior deluxe presidential suite, and there were only two suites in total.
Apart from the one they were occupying, the Hunts were said to have left the other one for themselves, so it was not open to outsiders. There was probably no one staying there at the time.
Ding! The elevator arrived.
Nora got in right away. Thus, she didn’t see the door to the other presidential suite open.
A tall, able, steady figure stepped out. The man had his back to the elevator entrance. His voice was low and deep, and he had an aura about him that was hard to ignore. He ordered the boy, “Go back to your room, Pete.”
Five-year-old Pete Hunt looked in the direction of the elevator.
The gentle hug and kiss on the forehead from that lady moments ago had caused even he, the Hunt’s only grandchild, to blush uncontrollably.
Pete’s face tightened up tightly. He had been strictly educated since he was a baby. Even the nutritional value of his meals had to be calculated.
However, a strong desire suddenly arose in the boy who had always exercised self-control, “I want to eat mousse cake.”
“…”
Justin Hunt looked at him and led him into the room with one hand.
Exuding an icy aura that drove people away from him, he went to the computer and continued the video conference.
The person in front of him gave him his report. “Mr. Hunt, we have confirmed that Anti has indeed returned to the United States. In addition, we have just purchased a photograph of her at a high price. I will send it to you right away.”
Justin’s thin lips parted slightly, and he coldly said one word: “Find her!”

It was bright in the Smith villa.
Outside the door, Nora heard the voice prompt “Entry Error” from the digital lock, and her lips curved into a smirk.
The password had been changed, but she, the Smiths’ daughter, didn’t even know it.
She looked down without emotion, picked up the cell phone, and nonchalantly tapped it a few times. Then, she placed it in the digital lock. A few seconds later, the door clicked open.
The lively atmosphere of the room rushed toward her, and the circulating crowd made her realize that today was the birthday of her younger sister, Angela Smith.
Seeing that no one had noticed her, Nora found a couch in the corner and sat down, intending to take a nap.
However, a low cry came from the deck where no one was looking.
A few young men had surrounded a girl and were assaulting her.
Angela, who was wearing a blue dress, was holding a glass of red wine and glaring at the girl who had been pushed to the ground.
It was her cousin, Lisa Black. She had always gotten along with that fat fuck, Nora.
Slap!
Someone slapped Lisa hard. “Did you just say the fat lady’s facial features look pretty good? There must be something wrong with her eyes. I’ll treat them for you…”
“Hiss…”
She picked up a glass of water infused with hot peppers and splashed it in Lisa’s eyes. “That ugly monster looks like a pig – it can’t even compare to one of Angela’s fingers! How were you able to say it looks good, Lisa?”
Lisa wanted to scream from the searing pain, but someone had covered her mouth, so she could only produce muffled screams as she choked in pain.
Suddenly, Angela squatted down. She pulled out a picture of Nora in her fatter days and played with it in her hands. “Hey, you’re all being too gross.”
When the others heard her, they let out a giggle and released Lisa, who covered her red, puffy eyes with her hand. “Please let me go…”
Angela smiled. “Let’s act more refined and make a bet.”
Lisa’s weak voice came from her throat. “What kind of bet?”
Angela pointed to the photo. “If you can prove that she really is beautiful after losing weight, I’ll eat this picture. If you can’t do that, then you’ll eat it. What do you think, isn’t that very fair?”
The rest immediately laughed.
“But what are you going to do if that fatty can’t get rid of the pounds?”
“On a bet, are you really going to get liposuction just to prove that your ugliness isn’t because you’re fat? Hahaha…”
“Lisa, you have absolutely no way to prove that she’ll look good after slimming down, so…”
“Eat the picture! Eat the picture!”
Everyone clapped and made a fuss.
Angela shoved the photo in his face. “Are you going to eat it yourself, or do you want us to help you with it?”
