Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1569

"Mom, I'll be back in a bit."

Marissa had a pretty good idea of what he was up to and just had to give him a piece of her mind.

"I've asked around, and it's true, Aubree's really into that young guy. Everyone's moved on, and so should you. You're a grown man, there's no need to cling to this. There are plenty of fish in the sea."

Andrew felt like someone had their hands around his throat, and he couldn't get a word out. He grit his teeth, and after a long pause, a stubborn look came over him.

"They'll break up eventually."

Matthew is still young; his promises don't mean much. So, Andrew decided to bide his time and wait for them to split. He was sure it would happen.

He felt downright pathetic. Everyone, including Brielle, just wanted Aubree to be happy. But not him. He was the only one hoping for a breakup, thinking that would be his chance. He didn't dare try the same tricks as before, worried that going after Matthew might make Aubree hate him. Now, all he could do was wait.

Andrew's hope turned into a nightly ritual, a whispered prayer before sleep.

Please break up soon, please break up soon.

He wished he'd wake up to news that they'd split. But life had other plans for him-Aubree and Matthew were doing great together.

Before long, Aubree wrapped up all her scenes for the movie. Matthew came by the set again, but by then, everyone had caught on to what was going on.noveldrama

Aubree wasn't as laid-back as Matthew; she still cared about what people thought. So, when Matthew came to visit the second time, she kept things professional and didn't let him get too close, sending him home hungry.

When filming wrapped, Matthew put together a fancy dinner to celebrate.

He even baked a little cake.

"I made it myself, make a wish."

Aubree chuckled.

"Who celebrates finishing a movie with cake?"

Matthew walked up behind her, giving her shoulders a gentle squeeze. "I made it, so we can eat it anytime."

Matthew had been juggling a lot-taking over his family's business and getting his company listed

overseas. His net worth shot unet

landing him in the top five on the rich list, and he was the youngest

there. .

Just three days ago, he gave an interview to a Wall Street journal because of his company's IPO.

When asked about his thoughts on marriage, Matthew looked right into the camera and said, "I've already met the person I want to spend my life with."

Even the reporter was taken aback; at eighteen, most folks are just figuring out love and wouldn't dare say something like that.

The night of the interview, Aubree was shooting a night scene. During a break, her assistant casually showed her the clip.

"Aubree, Mr. Matthew is really handsome, isn't he? People online are saying he's on par with Max."

The last teenager to make a splash

on Wall Street was Max, and that changed how Australians were seen internationally. With Matthew now in the spotlight, comparisons were inevitable.

But when Aubree saw the interview, she couldn't help but call Max.

"So, Mr. Dorsey, what do you think of my guy? Not too shabby, right?"

Aubree had never shown off her partner like this before. With Andrew, she had to keep everything under wraps, like they were hiding in the shadows, afraid of being found out and judged.

But with someone as impressive as Matthew, her pride was hard to contain. She couldn't resist calling the guy everyone was comparing him to. "Not bad, but he's still got some catching up to do."

A man's cool voice came through, making Aubree's lips twitch. She didn't want to admit it, but that was Max.

Why did it feel like he was just shamelessly bragging?
