Chapter 1785
Karina slowly got up and began packing her belongings, carefully folding her limited clothing and personal items before placing them neatly into her suitcase. Just as she was finishing, the doorbell rang. When she opened the door, Wilfred stood there.noveldrama
"Are you ready?" he asked softly.
Karina nodded. "Almost, Dr. Wilfred. Thank you so much."
Wilfred stepped inside, saw the suitcase, and immediately picked it up without a word. "It's no trouble. Let's go."
Karina followed him out of the hotel room and down to the parking lot. Wilfred placed her suitcase in the trunk of his car before opening the passenger door for her.
Once Karina was seated and had buckled her seatbelt, Wilfred got in and started the car.
The atmosphere in the car was quiet until Karina broke the silence. "Dr. Wilfred, I'm truly grateful for everything you've done for me."
"You don't have to keep thanking me," he replied calmly. "Everything has been arranged. Atlantis is a great city, and the hospital there has an excellent environment. Do your best."
"I will..." Karina replied softly.

Soon, they arrived in Atlantis.
Wilfred drove directly to the neighborhood he had arranged for Karina. It was a pleasant community with a good environment, complete amenities, and convenient transportation.
He carried her suitcase into the new apartment, which was already furnished with warm, comfortable decor and everything she might need.
"Dr. Wilfred, this is so thoughtful," Karina said, touched.
Wilfred glanced around the apartment and nodded. "Get some rest and settle in. Tomorrow, I'll go with you to the hospital to help you get familiar with the workflow and environment." Karina was slightly surprised, a hint of disbelief in her eyes.
"Dr. Wilfred, why are you going with me? Your work in Birkham must be so busy. Won't this take up too much of your time?"
Wilfred gave her a faint smile,
patiently explaining, "I actually have
a surgery scheduled here. The
hospital in Atlantis invited me to perform a complex procedure, and it happens to coincide with your onboarding.
"So, I can accompany you and make sure your transition is smooth."
Karina's heart swelled with gratitude. "Dr. Wilfred, you always consider so much for me, even when I don't expect it. I don't know how to thank you enough."
Wilfred wayed a hand dismissively
"It's nothing. But I'll be heading back to Birkham tonight. I have important partnership meetings that require my attention."
A flicker of reluctance passed through Karina's eyes.
"Dr. Wilfred, you've done so much-finding me a home, arranging a job. I haven't even properly thanked you. If you don't mind, why not stay for dinner before heading back? I'd like to cooka meal for you myself."
Wilfred hesitated, slightly taken aback by her sincerity. Her warm, earnest gaze stirred a faint sense of comfort in him.
"How could I impose? You just got here. You should rest instead."
Karina quickly replied, "Please, Dr. Wilfred, let me do this.
"If it weren't for you, I don't know where I'd be right now. It's just a meal, but it's the least I can do to show my gratitude."
Seeing her insistence, Wilfred finally nodded. "Alright. I'll stay for dinner, then. Thank you."
Karina beamed with happiness and immediately began planning the meal. She quickly put together a simple menu, deciding on a few of her best dishes. With her plan in mind, she hurried out to the nearby market to gather fresh ingredients.
The marketplace was bustling with activity, a lively crowd weaving through the tightly packed stalls that were brimming with an array of goods..
